I didn't know Dan well, but we were friends in the 7th grade at Farrer. He was friendly with an understated sense of humor that I really enjoyed. He was one person I was really looking forward to hooking back up with at the reunion. I was very disappointed to learn that he had passed away.
Dan lived down the street from me when I lived in Quail Valley, on the bench above Timpview. I didn't get to know him very well until after graduation around 1986-88 when I was back off my mission and going to grad school at BYU. We were in the same young adult ward and for a time I was assigned to be his home teacher. He was always very open and a friend to whomever he met. I know he had challenges with his health. I wish I had taken the time to get to know him better - to become a better friend to him and to offer him more support. He had much to offer.
