What I've been doing since high school:

After graduation I attended the U of U for four years. I enjoyed rooming with Brett Butler the first year. Graduated with a degree in Physics in '83. Served a mission to San Diego, CA and then attended BYU. Graduated from BYU in '87 with a MSEE and those were my last days in Utah.

I moved to the Bay Area in California to do mostly classified work in defense. Met a beautiful girl and we were married in '89. We lived there until '95 when we moved to Colorado Springs. We have been here ever since and we love it.

For 14 years, I worked at Intermap Technologies, a geospatial (mapping) company that is based in Denver. After working in Sales and Engineering, I was also the VP of the Consumer Electronics Business Unit. We produced outdoor recreation maps for the Apple iPhone. It was fun.

Last September, I parted with Intermap, which was difficult since I helped build the company, but it has been a very positive change for me. I am now starting two companies: 1) a consulting company in geospatial/mobile products, and 2) NeoTreks, Inc., which is building apps for the Apple iPhone/iPad for outdoor recreation/tourism. I look forward to the challenges ahead!

Over my career I've had the privilege to travel around the world. I've been to 36 countries on 5 continents. I have 1.1 million miles on United Airlines alone. But these days, I'm happy to be traveling less.

By far, my most important accomplishment was to find my wonderful wife and we are the parents of five wonderful children. Four girls and then we finally added a boy to the mix. So it is 2 boys against 5 girls in this household. My oldest daughter is 18 and is attending UVU. We enjoying traveling as a family and I've taken my two oldest daughters to Europe.

My continued appreciation to Bryan Chapman for pulling this web site together. I've been totally disconnected from the Class of '79 since I graduated. This gives me the opportunity to reconnect and get to know you a little better.

I remember when...

Okay - if you go to the photo album on the home page of this web site - scroll down to the picture of the large "79" that was painted on the concrete in front of the school. You might wonder what the black streak is on the right. Well, I had just put a 327 v8 in my Camaro and I naturally had to see if it was functioning properly. I was rather proud of this.

As for other stories, I'm still waiting for the statute of limitations to expire...
