Holy heck! (Wording was modified for proper broadcast use),
Where in the crap did you find all those pictures? John and Carl, were we really that cool looking in our running uniforms? Did Bryan just photo shop all that hair on my head? Dang!! These are great! Like I said in my profile, it was a privealge and an honor to run with the likes of Allsen, Black and Winterton. I look back at that now and think, that was quite the dream team. I would love to get copies of those photos for my albums.
Bryan, I have a bunch of dance pictures coming,(Look out Sonja, you're in four of them), but I also found a small treasure amoungst them. The original invitations and tickets to most of the dances I went to. Interested in seeing these as well?

Lost my silver 78 yearbook to a fire in 88 and never got a 79 yearbook. Anyone know where I might be able to get any? Difficult I'm sure.............

Hi, I believe Freddie Faux Johnson works in the front office at Timpanogos High School in Orem. I'll check to see if she is still there. Scott Kirkpatrick has passed away, according to his older brother Kelly.

Actually I did graduate! My photo is not in the yearbook.

Welcome to the site, Janae! Nice to see you here. Your brother in law, Dave, has helped us immensely with contacting people. And I notice he is now over at the Provo High site helping them.

*** Finnish exchange student, Temiseua Heikki ***

I posted about this here once already, but I'm posting again in hopes that a different set of eyes will see it this time. We had a student name Temiseua Heikki in our 1979 yearbook. Because Heikki doesn't appear in any previous yearbooks, and because he has a Finnish name and looks very Finnish, I'm assuming he was an exchange student.

I am guessing someone out there must remember him. He probably lived with a host family somewhere in Provo. I think he'd enjoy looking at the site as a memory of his America experience, so I'd love to track him down if I can. Does anywhere here have any leads we could pursue? I already tried a Finnish phonebook on the web and came up with nothing.

Thanks in advance.

David,
Here is a very long shot. We had a Finnish student living with us in Provo as well. He went by the name of Ilu Aura. He was a student at Provo High. Ran the hurtles for thier track team cause he liked coach Shame better than Sorenson. He later told me he regreted not being in our school. Anyway, he traveled extensively for the church doing translation and stuff. It's been a few years since we have communicated as he is very busy these days, as we all are. But maybe he knew him or maybe he would have some connections to finding who you're looking for. The last email address I have for him is: Ilkka.Aura@sonera.com. If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll check my Outlook address book at work on Monday. I have him in there as well. Good Luck and you still have a couple of months to come up with a very fine looking dark blue 68 Camero.

David Harris wrote about yearbook tricksters who somehow managed to appear in the yearbook under different names like his famous Doug Gribble name in Jr. High, or how Bryan Chapman is listed as "Bryan Chipwater" in our silver, Jr. yearbook.

I wrote this in response:

You think "we" were yearbook tricksters. Go to page 153 of the 1979 yearbook (TV Guide one). In the Freshman section, look up a student by the name of "Husky Helen." Then flip the page to page 154 and check out a student named "Jelly Jaws." Do you recognize these two?

Masters of the yearbook tricksters! We are not worthy....

Robin Benedict (Medrud)

Hey Bryan, I was just looking at the pics that you put up of the "T" project and yes the tall one in the back that would be me :) Do you remember the nickname that all the guys that lined up against the wall in the commons area used to call me as I would walk by? And why you all gave it to me? I still laugh about that every time that I think about it:)

I had so much fun my senior year at Timpview. I came from Orem High and was so glad that that I did.

Good to see you, too, Lee. I'm amazed we even recognized each other, two old guys like us. Looking forward to seeing your photos. (By the way, I tracked down Jeff Jacobs at the fire department. Thanks for the tip.)

Robin,

I changed the caption on the picture so that you are clearly identified. Thanks for the clarification. I don't know if the photo is really that fuzzy or just that my eyes are getting too old. At least I thought it was you initially.

I don't remember the nickname. Please share.

We're glad you came to Timpview too.I always appreciated how upbeat and funny you were in high school.

Sharon Hill (Goodman)

Yeah . . . Husky Helen was my psuedo yearbook identity one year! Thanks a lot David Harris or Bryan Chapman . . . or whoever the mysterious yearbook photo "editor" was! I always wondered about that curious addition!

02/24/09 09:47 AM #65

David Harris

I'll have to plead ignorance, Sharon. I didn't even know about Husky Helen until Bryan brought it to my attention a couple of days ago. I seem to remember, though, that Ellen worked on the yearbook committee. She may be your culprit. Then again, Bryan is the one that pointed it out to me. He could well be the guilty party.

Karen Ferre Hall was a 1978 graduate.

Hi Laura;

About Karen Ferre Hall. She is a Class of '78 grad. That's why she's on our "Guest Member" list. We've opened the list to anyone who has some sort of connection to our graduation class: went to Timpview before us, after us, Provo High Friends, Teachers, Spouses...really anyone who wants to be plugged in to what we're doing.

Please pass the word on to any friends who want to join in.

Bryan,
First of all thanks again. I had a question for you. It seems that on Feb. 21, there were 12 of our classmates deceased and now there are only 11. This is great news, especially for our resurrected classmate, so spill the beans, who was it? Was there a funny story with this situation?

for all of you that heard about the 16 yr. girl that was shot in provo on friday night. this young girl was a good friend of my son and our family it is very said to see a younggirl lose her live to somthing so dumb as a young boy shot her

03/09/09 10:55 PM #71

Bryan Chapman

Pete;

You are correct. We did have 12 deceased classmates. Now there are 11. The resurrected classmate is Scott Kirkpatrick. False Alarm. My Bad.

Tracy Maddox pointed out the error and let me know that Scott is alive and kicking and they both got a good chuckle out of the fact that he is, in fact, still alive.

Hey Bryan,
I'm sure you're allowed a mistake, after all the smiles you've put on our faces by working on this site.
Please know that the lack of contributions in no way reflects great value of the web site. I'm waiting for next paycheck.
Keep up the good work.
