Marian Jensen Pangburn

1937 - 2014

Marian Jensen Pangburn passed away January 10, 2014, from complications following surgery for a brain aneurism which she fought courageously. She was born in Springville, UT on September 19, 1937 to Harold Peter and Emily Martain Jensen.

She graduated from Provo High and BYU with a degree in education. She taught school as a business teacher for over 20 years, having taught at both Provo High and Timp View High Schools. She was a member of the Fort Knighters and several teachers organizations. She loved teaching and was a best friend to her students and everyone she met.

She was married to Jarman Hunt for many years. They lived in Northern, CA. She moved back to Utah following his death to be with family. She later met and married Jim Pangburn. They had a wonderful marriage of 35 years. Together they travelled and lived in many countries around the world. Two of their favorite places were Henrys Lake, ID and Carmel, CA to which they travelled many times. Marian easily made friends and kept those friends throughout her lifetime.

Marian was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served well in many callings, and many years as the Compassionate Service Leader. She had a special place in her heart for giving Christ-like service to others.

Marian is survived by her children: Rod (Diana VanWagenen) Hunt, Holly (Michael) Sacks, Joe Pangburn and Marshall (Kathleen) Pangburn; sister, Donna Jensen Merrill; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and both of her husbands.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Perpetual Education Fund or Humanitarian Fund through the LDS Church, or donate time to your favorite charity.
