I played on the BYU Ballroom dance team for 3 semesters 1979-80. Gave that up cause I wasn't much of an athlete so I went to Beauty School (back before it was cosmetology) and worked in the ZCMI salon for 6 months.
In 1983 I served a mission in Scotland. My Uncle, Gunn McKay, was my mission president. He was great!
In 1984 I tried my hand at 5th grade teaching (as an assistant). Thus far that was my favorite job, ever.
I met John , who is from Mapleton, Utah, and we were married in 1986.
John is a lawyer and was working with Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey when we were married. He was setting up a tour through Asia and we spent our first 18 months of marrage traveling through Asia and Australia. It was a whirl wind. We were never 7 days in the same city that whole first year. By the time Tina was born I was glad for the excuse to stay home.
We lived in L.A. until 1991. By then we had 2 children and I wanted a better environment to raise our kids in so we moved to Orem and have been here ever since. John still commutes to L.A. every other week. (working with entertainers pays better in California than it does in Utah).
John's mother and both of my parents now live with us, too. So our home is a bit complicated stretched from pre-school to skilled nursing care. But there is never a dull moment. Our door is never locked and rarely closed. Everyone is welcome. LIFE IS GOOD.
